Happy's Home

Well folks its official ... As of this evening HapSnap became a member of the Wright family. We just couldn't let this sweet boy out of our lives. Not to mention he pretty much decided he was home from the minute he walked through the door. I don't think anyone is as happy about it though as our daughter, Nicole. He's her nap time buddy, dress up pal, and cuddle pup. He's here to stay.

Another dress up date with nicole

All is good here in Hap's world. As you can see he enjoys Dress up time with Nicole. Not much has changed here ... He's still the sweet, smart, happy boy hes always been. He'll be meeting and greeting this Sunday at Clarksville Petsmart from 11-2. Come by and love on this big sweet heart!

Nap time cuddle buddies

Doesn't matter if its human or hound... if your on the floor its fair game for snuggles with this boy. His favorite though is Nicole. She has the warm blankies and soft pillows he lays on with her. If at any time you stop petting this big boy he inches closer until he falls asleep. He loves to fall asleep on top of Nicole so I'm constantly moving the two of them around during nap time. He has no sleep startle and loves to be laying with someone or cuddled with. This was obviously something we took very slow since some grey's do not care for being "smothered" the way "Hap-Snap" (daughters nick name she has given him) does. This boy thrives on any kind of affection and loves to be held and hugged on.
He doesn't care much for zoomies and the only times we've seen him run is when playing with a toy or chasing Mr cotton tail. Hap-Snap crates very well, has had no accidents inside the house, and loves everyone. He will be meeting and greeting this Sunday at the Clarksville petsmart from 11-2.

Happy working on his summer tan

This boy is photogenic let me tell ya! I just love taking pics of this sweet boy. Here he is sunning... he'd stay out for hours if I'd let him but in this heat and with his coat a few minutes is more than enough. He relived his glory days racing with the boys last night. Thumper instantly regretted his decision to munch on clovers in this backyard, but much to his luck escaped. Happy enjoyed the romp with his foster brothers even if they didn't succeed in catching that fluffy quick creature ;) Other than that no new news. He's the same Polite, Affectionate, Goofy boy we've come to know. Really just wanted to share pics of this Handsome Houndie!!

Dressed to impress!!!

Hello everyone !! Thought we'd add some more pics of this goofy fun boy. This ham has recently started putting his head through our daughters stretchy head bands, if she is holding them and getting ready to wear them. We're not sure if its because he thinks its a collar or if he just wants to look good, but either way he pulls off pink Marvelously !!! Plus Nicole loves that he likes "dress up". This boy cracks us up. He's such a cuddle bug and from the pics above you can see he will even snuggle with toys if a human is unavailable. A sweet boy who loves kids and cuddles and is very concerned with fashion apparently :)  .... Someone is gonna hit the jack pot with this handsome hound.

Happy's Happenings :)

Hello Everyone !! Happy is settling in wonderfully! He enjoys to be smothered with love( as you can see above.. pet smart manager just couldn't get enough of this snuggle bunny at this weekends M&G ! ) . He likes to play with toys, run in the yard with the resident hounds, take naps with his human foster sister (who is 4 ) or foster dad, give kisses, and eat his favorite new treat Pig Ears. Yum !! Happy makes sure to mind his manners and knows the house rules and schedule. He's very smart and knows the commands "lie down", "wait", and is working on "sit". He does great crated as long as he has a companion. He gets very anxious alone so will need another pup in his home with him. He appears to be small dog friendly and doesn't pay them any mind. Cats I'm not sure of yet. He's a very sweet and affectionate boy who is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family out there :)

Happy has been here a week and what a joy he is to have here. He is a big guy, lovable, sweet, smart, obedient and goofy at times! He discovered the doggie beds right away and a couple days later discovered stuffies. He loves to sqeek and toss them around and believe me when he plays it sounds like the house if falling down! He learned the command "Go lay down" almost immediately. At first he wanted to pull on the leash but is improving every day. Happy is a Mamma's boy but does not shy away from Jim or Chad - he never turns down a belly rub or an ear scratching. He wants to roach but is so big he just falls over. He goes in the crate just fine but doesn't really want to. He'll stay there for a while and then will whine and complain but we just ignore him and he stops. I think that after he gets totally aclimated to retirement that will stop. He loves treats but has not yet learned the art of taking them from our hands so for right now we lay them on the floor for him. It's something he'll figure out with time. He doesn't counter serf and has had a couple of accidents in the house but they were my fault - he did try to tell me. Bad foster Mommy - I promise to pay better attention in the future. He also went half way up the steps the other day then turned around and came back. We haven't started stair training yet but I don't believe he will be afraid of them.

Happy is such a wonderful boy and I know some lucky person or persons is going to find much joy and love in this sweet baby. I think he'll do well as an only hound or with others. He really gets along well with Sunny and Breeze.
